Vistabella is a small village, West of Torrevieja beside the man-made lake of Embalse de la Pedrera. Beside this small village is the gold course called the same name of the village. Over the past years there has been many new builds and large development beside the course. The urbanisation of the area of Vistabella has made way for several bars and restaurants to open in the area. Vistabella is an area in development.
Alongside the golf, Vistabella have a ‘master plan’ for excellent development with many restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The plan has been backed by major businesses and companies this side of Spain.
As this area is currently in development there is not as much activities near apart from a selection of bars and restaurants. Situated between the cities of Torrevieja and Orihuela, you do not need to go far to join in on several different activities.
The Golf Course
The golf course is situated on more than 40 hectares with 18 wonderful holes to play. Vistabella use the features of the environment around it to create the beautiful course. On their website you can get a better overview of each of the holes.
Manuel Pinero a former European and World cup golf champion has helped designed the course, incorporating many of the challenges he faced as a player. This is to challenge everyone who comes to the course. With experience of over 500 courses world-wide, you couldn’t have a better person to help design the course.
Nearby Activities and points of Interest
Around the area of Vistabella there is not much other activities apart from the golf course. Although the area is still in development. There is a lot of restaurants and bars around the area.
There is a nearby lake which is great for long walks, jogs and cycles. Some parts of the year, the lake dries up a little, so you can walk further onto the lake rather than on the paths around it.
Around 20-30 minutes away is the beaches of the Cabo Roig (Cabo Roig Area) and Punta Prima. In these areas there are plenty of activities including a vast amount of bars and restaurants. You can also take part in a number of water sports or visit La Zenia shopping centre that has all your favorite shops.
In Vistabella there are no police stations. The closest station would be in San Migual de Salinas. The closest hospitals would be in the city of Torrevieja. Since the Urbanisation of Vistabella is still under development, the area does not have any public or private schools. The closest school are in San Miguel de Salinas, Bigastro and Jacarilla, all towns within a 15 minutes’ drive away. There are no universities nearby with the closest being in the Torrevieja or Orihuela.
The weather in the area of Vistabella is a typical Mediterranean climate. Temperatures peak in the summer months and can potentially reach upwards of 35 degrees. The coolest months are the winter months of December, January and February. The wettest months are October and April.
