Los Alcazares & Torre Alcazares
Los Alcazares is a former fishing village now turned into a town as its population grown to over 10,000 people. The town is located of the Mar Menor close by the city of San Javier. During the summer months the town in hugely popular with tourists bringing the town to life. At this time, you can expect the town’s population to more than quadruple. The town has many beaches nearby and many other attractions including a town centre and an area centre called Bahia.
Torre Pacheco is a large town, 12-13 kilometres away from Los Alcazares. The town itself has just under 30,000 residents. The town centre is large and has a range of shops, restaurants and bars for all your needs. There is also a train station that connects with the cities of Murcia and Cartagena. There is a lot of other attractions and beautiful spots around this town including a 9-hole golf course in the city centre.

One of the best ways to see the area around Los Alcazares is pedal bikes. There are many places to rent bikes in the towns if you do not have your own. You can also take boat trips out onto the Mar Manor and hire boats yourself. You can also take part in many different water sports on the Mar Manor including sailing, canoeing, surfing and paddle boarding just to name a few.
The large town of Torre Pacheco has many activities you can part of. In the large town centre there is a sports complex. This complex has an inside swimming pool and apparatus for gym and gymnastics. There are also several parks about the town, which provide great walks and cycle routes. The town even has a 9-hole golf course, so you’re never far from a round.
Both of the towns offer many bars and restaurants, allowing you to cool down and relax with a nice meal.
The area around Alcazares and Torre Pacheco is home to many different medical centres and a few hospitals are near in the cities of San Javier and Cartagena. There is a number of police stations near by also, to keep you and your family safe. There is a range of schools in the area of Los Alcazares and Torre Pacheco. There are many public schools and private schools as well as schools which specialise in various subjects. The closest universities are in the nearby cities of Cartagena and San Javier.
The weather of the area is the typical Spanish Mediterranean weather. The hottest month is August and the coolest being January. The wettest month is October and the driest is July. If you love the sun and like to be in it all year round, then this could potentially be the perfect home area to live in.
