The Mar Menor Golf Resort was one of the first resorts built by Polaris World. It was originally designed around a 9 hole golf course designed by Dave Thomas and had only 2, 3 or 4 bedroom villas onsite. Due to the resort’s success, it was expanded several years later to include an additional 9 holes and the construction of apartments and other villas.
At the centre of the resort, you will find a 5-star Caleia hotel and spa that incorporates a lovely clubhouse overlooking the hotel pool. The hotel has several bars and restaurants, including sushi, Italian, and Irish as their main themes.
There is also a Spa with an indoor pool. Close to the hotel, you will also find the main resort clubhouse, where there is a communal swimming pool, including a kids pool, gym, supermarket, poolside restaurant and bar, hairdresser, tennis court and shop.
In addition to the above facilities, you will also find 8 padel tennis courts, a gym, 15 communal pools for apartment owners, a kids’ play area, a fitness circuit, picnic areas and numerous plazas and fountains. There is also a taxi rank outside the hotel.
You will find more bars and restaurants on the resort’s perimeter, including theĀ Andalucian restaurant, an Irish sports bar, an Indian restaurant, a pub, an American diner, and an international restaurant. There is also a bank with a 24-hour cashpoint and a bus stop with daily services to the local town of Torre Pacheco.
During the summer months, you will find many activities arranged at the resort, including mini discos, kids club and excursions to keep the whole family busy. Various classes are organised, such as yoga, pottery classes, Zumba, and Spanish.
If you wish to practise your golf, there is a golf range and putting green close to the hotel. The golf pro shop will be able to book all your golfing requirements and arrange club hire if necessary.
The resort is situated only 5km from the coastal village of Los Alcazares, and here you will find the lovely beaches of the Mar Menor. Los Alcazares also has many shops, bars, restaurants and a long promenade adjacent to the beach to enjoy relaxing walks or cycling. If you wish to explore the area further, the historic towns of Cartagena and Murcia are 20, and 40 minutes drive from the resort.
