Nearby Activities and Points of Interest

The city of Torrevieja has a lot to offer. The city has many parks, a marina, a water park, a casino and a few beaches. The biggest talking point about the area is of course the salt lakes. To the west of the city are two salt lakes, one is a greeny blue colour and the other one is this bright milkshake like pink colour. These lakes do not just provide great scenery, but they also provide a purpose for the region. Every year salt is collected from the lake at a monstrous amount. The salt is then pilled high in massive mountains. You are also able to take a swim in the lakes and much like the dead sea, you will float due to the salt.

Within the city of Torrevieja there is a marina. This marina has many mooring spots and if you live near the area and have a boat, would make the perfect spot to moor your boat. Around the city there are also a number of beaches including the very popular Playa La Cura which is located near the marina. This beach has a promenade lined with bars and restaurants, making it the perfect for a nice day out.

There are several walking and cycling routes around the city and the surrounding area. The parks, Parque Jardin de las Naciones, Parque Rincon De Asturias and the Parque de la estacion all offer fine walking spots for all. Many cycling routes take you to surrounding towns and villages, we would also recommend a scenic cycling from the Torrevieja past the salt lakes to the village of Los Montesinos.

Torrevieja also has a water park called Aquopolis. It is only open during the summer months. Throughout the area there are many bars and restaurants. There is a mixed range of restaurants including Spanish, Mediterranean, grills and Italian.
